Jason Abrevaya and Shu Shen, "Estimation of Censored Panel-Data Models with Slope Heterogeneity", Journal of Applied Econometrics, Vol. 29, No. 4, 2014, pp. 523-548. We provide both Stata and Matlab programs for both the Monte Carlo section and the empirical section. The former are zipped in as-monte-carlo.zip, and the latter in as-empirical.zip. All files are ASCII files in DOS format. Unix/Linux users should use "unzip -a". To replicate the results in the Monte Carlo section, just download and run the provided Matlab codes. The data sample is extracted from the DNB Household Survey of Netherlands, a longitudinal survey launched in 1993 that contains work, pensions, housing, mortgages, income, assets, loans, health, economic and psychological concepts, and personal characteristics information for a large sample of Dutch individuals. At the time of writing, the dataset could be downloaded at http://www.centerdata.nl/en/TopMenu/Projecten/DNB_household_study/ after registration. To replicate the results in the empirical section, researchers must first register with DNB and download all the datasets for years 93-99 and 02-08. Once datasets are downloaded, researchers should append all datasets in year 93-99 to a file called agw9399.dta and all datasets in year 02-08 to a file called agw0208.dta. After that, running the data cleaning code dataclean.do in Stata will give researchers the data sample used in the paper. The MLE estimation results in the empirical section can be replicated by running the code application_mle.m, and the CLAD estimation results can be obtained by running application_clad.m in Matlab.
